SECRETARIES MESSAGE:
I have been quiet as of late but now it the time for me to say what I have to. July is here and it has been three months since the
billing went out for dues. To keep a member on the list when that member has not paid his/hers dues cost the Lodge, with grand
lodge assessments, mailing and office expense about $20.00. The money you pay in dues helps pay for some of the things that
we do for the community. If you feel that you wish to continue your membership in this group, that is wonderful, please pay your
dues now. If you feel that you do not wish to continue your relationship with this Lodge, you know it!, now please sent me a
note so I can remove you from our records. Being a member, unpaid, means that you are inactive and are a burden to the
organization. We have an investment in you, I ask you to invest again in us.
I will be sending out notices to the unpaid members within the next week or two, please take to heart the statement above,
hopefully you will wish to still help your Lodge and your community.
Reminder – One meeting in July & August

Pavilion Fund Raiser:
Just a reminder to all that the calendar fund raiser is back and
there are still a few left for the month of July. We will continue to
keep you updated as to the status of the pavilion and will notify
all members, via the bulletin of future fund-raisers that we have
planned. Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and safe 4th of
July and summer season!

ANNUAL ELKS GOLF TOURNAMENT:
This years golf tournament will be on July 12, 2008 at the Northampton Country Club. This year we will be having only one
round, beginning at 9:00am with dinner at 4:00pm. Sixteen 5 person teams. Sign up sheets will be at the lodge so get
them and get them back early. As in the past, the dinner will be steamers, steak, baked potato, corn on the cob, salad and
dessert. If anyone wishes to attend the meal and cannot play golf, there will be a sign up sheet at the lodge and the $20.00
payment for the meal will be due at the time of sign up. Golf fees will be the same as last year, $60.00 per person for
non-members of the country club, Northampton Country Club members will pay $50.00 per person. And just a reminder that all
proceeds from this event are used for our local scholarships.
Fraternally,
Greg Zak,Chairman
Cruise Night:
Cruise Nights are now in full swing. For those of you who have attended, you know that we are raffling off some great prizes
every week, as well as selling raffle tickets for some end of season raffle drawings. At our final cruise night in September, you
could win a big screen TV or a beautiful Handmade Quilt. But if you don’t stop in and check us out and buy your ticket for
these items, you don’t have a chance. Remember, raffle tickets for these items can only be purchased on Thursday nights!!!!
So Come On Down!!!

REMEMBER OUR SOLDIERS!!
As you sweat in the heat of the summer sun, remember our
men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. The average
daily temperature during the day over there is 120 degrees.
The sand is hot and dry and so are our troops. Remember
them by purchasing some of the individual drink straws for
them to put in the water they consume, hard candies, baby
wipes, eye drops. Currently we have two boxes in the lounge
area. One is for Matthew Choiniere, nephew of John and
Louise Glenowicz, and Dean Gould, son-in-law of Bob Joyce.
Please help support our troops!
Lunch Is Being Served: Just a reminder to all, Magda is
serving up some great lunches, Monday-Friday 11am-1pm.
All regular menu items are priced at $3.75 or less and be sure
to check out the daily specials that are out of this world and
always under $5.00. You won’t find a better meal or better
deal anywhere in town!
