Wanted!! Horse Shoe Players:
Looking for 24 players to play on Monday nights at 6pm. We will play 3 games each, per night, for 10 weeks, starting
April 30th. The cost will be $4 per week. There will be prizes and a banquet at the end of the 10 weeks. A sign-up sheet
will be posted at the Lodge.

Congratulations to Doug Luce and his Suite of Officers for the fine job they did during the past Elk Year. We wish to thank
Doug, Loyal Knight John Kingsley and Lecturing Knight Ed Cahillane for their efforts. John has decided to take some time
off and Ed will be moving on to Trustee for 5 years.
Congratulations to the New officers of Northampton Lodge #997 for the Fraternal Year 2008-2009. They are as follows:

The installation of Officers will take place Saturday, April 12th. Cocktails will be 4-5PM. Installation will be at 5:00 PM with
dinner and dancing (with karaoke) to follow. Please sign up at the lodge if you are planning on attending the installation
ceremony.
The Northampton Lodge of Elks wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Jack Joyce for his years as a Lodge Trustee. Jack
made the difficult decision to resign before finishing out his term because of his work schedule and his inability to spend the
time necessary at the lodge to fulfill his duties. Thank you, Jack. Your experience will be missed.
Tuesday, April 8th is Yankee Night. As all of our Nationality Nights, it promises to be a great meal. Please buy your tickets
early.
Our Exalted Ruler Elect, Mark, is in the process of putting together his committees for the upcoming year. If there is any
committee you’d like to serve on, please don’t hesitate to contact Mark and let him know. Good Committees are essential to
fulfilling our duties as Elks, and helping our community. Volunteers are needed for all of our efforts – scholarships, veterans,
military, youth activities, sports banquets, nationality nights, Elks National Foundation, cruise night, bingo and just about
everything we do. If you can spare a couple hours here and there, please step forward and help us out. Without volunteers,
our programs will not succeed.

Cruise Night:
Looking for Cruise Night committee members! The 2008 season will begin on Thursday night, May 22, 2008. We are looking
for new and old members to join us this summer. Everyone is invited and we can find FUN things to do for all!! We have
some interesting changes & events for this, our 4th season!! Please give Larry a call at 413-584-5526 if you think you might
be interested in this outdoor activity and excellent fund raiser.
We are also looking for new & old sponsors. Give me a call and I’ll get you on the list. (We will be starting our sign ups
shortly) EVENT RUNS UNTIL SEPTEMBER 25TH.

New Chip System:
The house committee is going to be implementing a new drink
chip system. We, with approval from the lodge floor, have
purchased new chips. They have a cash value inscribed on
one side. The bartenders will be ringing the sale of chips into
the register. This allows the auditing committee a more
precise way to track the sale of drink chips.
Starting April 1st, the new chips will be on sale. Your old style
chips will be honored until May 21. We hope this allows you
ample time to cash them in. If you have any questions please
feel free to come to a house committee meeting.
Yankee Night:
Come join us for Yankee night on Tuesday April 8th. The
fun starts at 6 pm, with dinner served at 7pm. Enjoy a
wonderful buffet, a fabulous dinner, chances to win prizes
and a great night out with fellow Elks, supporting our lodge.
Tickets available at the Lodge for just $12 per person.

The Northampton Elks pavilion committee and lodge members wish to thank the family and friends of Frank Bertrand for
their generous donations to the lodge pavilion fund. Donations such as these will ensure the completion of the pavilion
and enable our members and their families to enjoy the building for many years to come. So, again we thank you for
your generosity and would also like to express our sorrow over the loss of your loved one and our brother, Frank.

like to remind everyone that it is the responsibility of each of

BINGO HELP:
Bill Coleman and Ed Michalowski, co-chairmen of the Bingo
Kitchen Workers are in need of two more workers to help
out between 4pm & 8pm on Bingo Night. No experience
necessary, on the job training and fun will be provided.

Disco Night-
On Saturday April 19th we will be leaving the ‘70s at our Disco Night!! Dig our those platform shoes, tease out that hair-do
and boogie on down for a night of disco along with some good old fashioned rock & roll thrown in for fun. The “Night Fever”
starts at 7:00 pm and continues for as long as we are “Stayin’ Alive”!!!!!
