Exalted Ruler’s Message:

I would like to thank you for the chance of serving as Exalted Ruler.  I would not have been able to complete this year
without the help of many volunteers who have stepped up and helped to serve this Lodge and the community that we
serve.
I hope that more members will step up and help make next year an even better year.  We have a great group of people
who have taken on the responsibility of becoming officers in this Lodge.  They will need your help to fulfill all of the
obligations that we as Elks take on.  Try to take a positive and active role in your Lodge.  This will help the officers and
employees who are striving to do their best to make sure that this is a place that we can all enjoy.

Fraternally,
Doug Luce, E.R.

SECRETARY’S MESSAGE:
The dues bills have been mailed out for 2009 but some of the mailing in the Florence area has not arrived.
“BUT!!!” Your 2009 membership dues are now due.

Regular members $75 – Life & Honorary members $35.

Due to a computer glitch some cards are a year off on the member years. This has no effect on member
years! All calculations for life member status will be correct when done at the end of the current year. The
problem will adjust with 2010 member year cards.

To the 26 members that have not paid this year dues, this will be your last bulletin and last Elks Magazine.  If
you wish to remain an “ELK” I must have your dues by March 31, 2008. I will drop all unpaid members on or
before that date. If you reinstate before thirty days have past from that date and pay both current and last year
you would not lose any consecutive membership years.

Congratulations to Mark Teixeira the Exalted Ruler Elect and his new officers, I look forward to working with
you in the coming year.

Fraternally,
John E. Cotton, Secretary, PER

Buck-A-Week Dinner:

The biannual Buck-A-Week dinner and drawing will be held Friday, March 28th, 2008 at the
Lodge.  Dinner will be served at 6:30PM.  Due to the popularity of this function and in order to
accommodate as many people as possible, only ticket holders may participate.
Unfortunately, guests can no longer be invited.  Also, it is mandatory that if you plan to
attend, you make a reservation prior to the cut-off date of Monday, March 24th, 2008 at
5:00pm.  Because of the limited seating capacity, no more than 200 can be served.  So call
early and we hope to see you there for a fun evening.

Mike O’Brien
BAW Chairman

came out and helped to make this another fun, successful night at the Elks!
Irish Night:
It is March and that means we are in store for another fabulous Nationality Night at the Elks!  This is a very popular
